How long does the HempPod take to build?

Accepted Answer

Factory assembly to ‘move-in ready’ takes about 3–4 weeks, with a further 2–4 weeks for site works and install — roughly 2–4 months total versus 6–12 months for a traditional on-site build.

Do I need a licensed builder?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The HempPod is a Class 1a dwelling under the NCC, so construction must be overseen by a licensed builder, and electrical and plumbing carried out by licensed tradespeople. We can take these worries off you.

Question 3

Can I choose not to take the Certification Package?

Accepted Answer

You can, but once you commence your own building and certification you may be ineligible to re-access the service later, and we can offer no guarantee the building will be certified. We strongly recommend the package.

Can I customise the design?

Accepted Answer

Yes — the best time is at the concept/design stage. Customisation is generally limited to internal-wall changes, fit-out inclusions and finishes; the core design is time-tested for value.

Can I expand or modify the home later?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but the ideal time is at initial concept. Later modifications can be made by a licensed builder.

Is air-conditioning included?

Accepted Answer

Yes — one central A/C is included. Additional reverse-cycle units are available as an option.

Yes — solar panels can be fitted as an option, reducing your footprint and long-term power bills.

A well-designed deck/carport is optional — we offer up to ~45 m² decking and a ~50 m² carport.

If your site isn’t on town sewerage you’ll likely need a septic tank; we can commission a Land Capability Assessment to confirm council requirements.

Your site will be levelled and cleared; footings or screw-pile foundations are prepared by our licensed builder.
